Strathdearn Community Website

Published at the request of Helen Bailey:

swings thingsCalling all parents, grandparents, carers, etc, who use the play park at Strathdearn Hall with their little ones. Strathdearn Community Developments (SCD) would love to hear from you!

As you probably know, Strathdearn Hall is being redeveloped to create a new community hub. As part of this work, changes will be made to the existing play park. SCD wants to know what you, the users of the existing and new facilities, think about the current plan for the play park.

The architect’s plan (as it currently stands) shows the existing play park equipment divided into two areas, with the smaller toddler equipment to the area in front of the café, and the larger swing and climbing frame to the gable end. The current plan can be viewed on the SCD website and Strathdearn Facebook page. The current play park plan was also discussed recently at a hub meeting on 25th July at Strathdearn Hall.

What do you think about the current plan for the play park at Strathdearn Hall – please tell us!

As a trained academic researcher, and mother of two young children living in Tomatin, I am working voluntarily with SCD to collect and analyse your responses. You can submit your thoughts on the play park in the following ways: via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (include ‘Play park survey’ in the subject bar) or by post to Play park survey, Strathdearn Hall, Tomatin, Inverness, IV13 7YN. All responses will be treated confidentially, and at no point, will personal information be publicly disclosed; I may however, include direct quotes in my analysis. If you wish to be personally involved in further discussions regarding the play park, please include a statement to that effect, together with your contact details.

Please send as long or as short a response as you wish, in relation to any aspect of play park provision you feel is of importance. I will analyse the responses to determine the common themes. The resulting information will be used by SCD, in discussion with the architect, for the ongoing development of the hub plans. There will be future opportunities to review updates to the hub plan, including any changes to the current proposed play park facilities.

The closing date for submitting your responses is Friday 7th September 2018. We look forward to hearing from you!

Kind regards

Helen Bailey, on behalf of SCD
